TELUS Days of Giving 2020
Realizing that we cannot stop helping and provoked by the sincere desire and social engagement of our employees, our internal CSR team reshaped the format of our main volunteer program, which traditionally gathers over hundreds of volunteers in one place, and we continued to give, even during a pandemic.
The goal of the volunteer project TELUS Days of Giving 2020 #StayGiving was to help some of the most vulnerable groups of people and their families through volunteering, albeit under anti-epidemic measures.
We aimed to help communities negatively affected by the crisis caused by COVID-19, providing financial and moral support that is timely and relevant to their current and future urgent needs.
We strived for our employees to be positively engaged to the causes we supported, taking into account their interests, passions and capabilities, and told them real stories of people to help. The causes were also consistent with the employees’ feedback from our annual engagement survey. Finally, they had a choice of 6 causes in total, so that everyone could be maximally engaged.
An invariable goal for us was to provide safe conditions during the volunteering both for the volunteers and for all other participants in the project.
