“Our money”
“Оur Money“ is Visa’s CSR program dedicated to enhancing financial literacy in Bulgarian high schools. It was inspired by results of a survey that showed only 9% of pupils in Bulgaria declared a good knowledge of financial services while at the same time 84% were keen to learn economy and finance basics. The program was launched in 2017 to educate pupils, 9-11 grade, on how to make smart decisions for their personal finances. Especially for the program and the face-to-face trainings of pupils, was developed a text book, an exercise book and a book for the teachers as well as 45 videos hosted at the most popular educational platform ucha.se. Initial training was provided for teachers and principals from the schools willing to join the program. In addition, they could discuss and share experience in teaching financial literacy in a closed Facebook group of the teachers, which was as well used to facilitate the administration of the program. Later, a special website and a corresponding Facebook group, pocketscience.bg, were developed to encouraged students to further enhance their knowledge in financials by watching educational videos. The pupils could after that use accomplished knowledge to solve quizzes and win points with which to buy fashion clothes and items. AMI Communications was involved in concept development and was responsible for the full management and implementation of Our Money campaign.
