Communication campaign “Super Glucodog”

In 2020, our team carried out a communication campaign “Super Glucodog” to promote the training of assistance dogs for people with diabetes. This is done by the Eyes on Four Paws Foundation with the financial support of pharmaceutical company Servie Bulgaria – a leader in the treatment of the disease.

The initiative trains Labradors to recognise the onset of a hypoglycaemic crisis in patients with diabetes and thus protect them from serious life-threatening conditions. Successfully trained dogs are provided free of charge to patients with diabetes. Thanks to Servier’s support, in 2020 the number of trained dogs and donated assistance dogs rose to five in total.

For the purposes of the campaign, our team filmed videos in which an endocrinologist, a parent of a child with diabetes, an assistance dog for a child, and an assistance dog trainer participated. Through them, we presented the importance of the project, as well as the benefits for patients. A key moment in the campaign was the holding of a ceremony for the official awarding of diplomas to trained assistance dogs. It was attended by representatives of institutions, Parliament, Sofia Municipality, patient organisations, doctors and the media. At the event, the trained dogs were presented along with their owners, who expressed recognition for the benefits and advantages of their work. The campaign was highly praised by the institutions, and the promotion of the role of assistance dogs received a wide media response.
