Clean Air Fund – Hackathon: Improving Air Quality in Bulgaria

Client: Clean Air Fund

Campaign: “Improving Air Quality in Bulgaria”

Agency: United Partners

Short Description

The Clean Air Fund (CAF) is a philanthropic organization working globally to empower funders, researchers, policymakers, and campaigners to deliver clean air for all. They started their activity in Bulgaria as our country holds the highest levels of air pollution in the European Union. Their main goal is to educate people about the negative consequences of the air pollution and how Bulgaria could benefit from having cleaner air. Their latest report „Impact of air pollution on career decisions of the highly-skilled workforce in Sofia” shows how air pollution directly affects the citizens of Sofia and provides valuable insights related to the whole country as well. To support the CAF efforts, United Partners decided to take on a different approach and engage society with the problem, because learning by example is always a good idea. The agency organized an online Hackathon that aimed at gathering like-minded people from all over Bulgaria. Through this mechanic, participants were involved into coming up with different solutions or possible activities to hack the air pollution. The participants in the Hackathon gave an out-of-the-box point of view to the decision-makers – local or national authorities and big companies in all cities across Bulgaria.
