Chairski Lakes – Biodiversity Capsules in the Rhodopes / Interimage for DEVIN

Chariski Lakes, a peatland gem under threat DEVIN has a spectacular record of protecting natural resources around the town of Devin. Only logically, it has inspired a campaign for the conservation of the stunning Chairski Lakes peatland area. Chairski Lakes – Biodiversity Capsules in the Rhodopes is a conservation project for restoring and preserving the peatland habitats of Chairski Lakes in the Rhodopes, the home of DEVIN. The project implements conservation measures, and works to reduce human and climate-induced impacts to ensure long-term ecosystem viability. Chairski Lakes is in fact a living laboratory for sustainability. The project’s goal is to safeguard these ecosystems through scientific research, local community engagement, and responsible ecotourism. In this endeavour DEVIN collaborates with Bulgaria’s Biodiversity Foundation (BBF), environmentalists, scientists and policymakers.
