Yettel: Safer Internet and Digital Skills Development Program

Yettel Bulgaria, part of e& PPF Telecom Group—a partnership between PPF Group and Emirates Telecommunication Group (e&)—is dedicated to delivering top-tier telecommunications services to over 3 million customers.

As the company’s longest-running CSR initiative, Yettel’s Online Safety and Digital Skills Development Program began in 2006 as a Safer Internet campaign and has since evolved into a key pillar of its Sustainability Strategy. Focused on fostering digital inclusion, the program aims to educate 40,000 children annually on online risks and strengthen the digital skills of 10,000 adults. Additionally, it aligns with Europe’s Digital Decade vision, ensuring broader participation in today’s digital world.

The initiative engages key partners, including the Safer Internet Center (Safenet), Klett Bulgaria publishing house, and the educational platform prepodavame.bg (Teach for Bulgaria Foundation). Their expertise ensures high-quality content and effective outreach.

The campaign addresses essential digital safety topics, such as protecting privacy by creating strong passwords, safe interactions online, and developing critical thinking to identify misinformation and fake news. It also raises awareness of cyber threats like cyberbullying and phishing. Additionally, the program supports digital literacy by promoting the adoption of new technologies, including Artificial Intelligence in education, through specialized training sessions tailored for teachers.
