Yettel: Safer Internet and Digital Skills Development Program

Yettel is part of e& PPF Telecom Group – a partnership between PPF Group and Emirates Telecommunication Group (e&), focused on delivering excellent telecommunications services to more than 3 million customers.

Yettel’s Online Safety and Digital Skills Development Program is its longest-standing telecom CSR initiative, originally launched as a Safer Internet program in 2006. Over the years, it has evolved into a comprehensive digital inclusion strategy and a core pillar of Yettel’s Sustainability efforts. The program’s goal is to educate 40,000 children annually on online safety risks and enhance the digital skills of 10,000 adults. It also aligns with the EU’s Digital Decade initiative, fostering broader participation in today’s digital society.

Key partners include the Safer Internet Center, Klett Bulgaria publishing house, and the educational platform prepodavame.bg. Their contributions are vital in engaging the target audience and delivering high-quality, impactful content.

The campaign addresses essential digital safety topics such as privacy protection, strong password creation, and safe online interactions. It also promotes critical thinking to counter misinformation and fake news, while raising awareness of cyber threats like phishing and cyberbullying. Additionally, digital literacy initiatives focus on integrating new technologies into education, including the use of Artificial Intelligence, with specialized training designed for teachers.
