5G Event
The event was held on October 30, 2019, when in front of over 150 journalists and representatives of state institutions, Vivacom demonstrated its readiness to switch to the fifth-generation networks through 5G tests on its real network. Stages and studios were built in 3 different locations which kept a live connection during the event. There were three real-time demonstrations – Digital Education, Music, and Flying – from three different geographical points. They were tied to areas that are traditionally supported by Vivacom – education, culture and sport. In addition, a gaming talk-show was held, which showed in practice how the 5G mobile network will change the world of gaming. The event was implemented through the help of the big and well-synchronized team of external and internal professionals, among which employees of various directorates of Vivacom – Technology, Products and Services, and others. Numerous partners and subcontractors were attracted – the technology giant Huawei with a decision on distance education, one of the largest organizers of concerts, music festivals and stage events – Joker Media, and the world paragliding champion Veselin Ovcharov, whose film crew had an operator working for the latest production of the James Bond series. This ensured the uncompromising quality of the technical equipment needed for such demonstrations.
