NEVEREST – A Father and a Son Breaking World Records

Never rest until you reach your own Everest – this is not a quote from a motivational book, but the message two men spread to the whole world with their great achievement. In 2020, the 17-year-old high school student Maxim Ivanov and his father Stefan Ivanov, a successful financier and entrepreneur, undertook an exciting adventure and sailed across the Atlantic Оcean with a boat. The result was a new world record, several first-time achievements, raising public awareness about a great cause and millions of people inspired. M3 Communications was by the two sailors’ side all the time, providing them with pro bono PR and communication support, helping to popularise their adventure and to drive more awareness about the cause they supported with their expedition – organ donation.

The journey of Maxim and Stefan started in June 2020 and remained in history as the first ever ocean rowing expedition for Bulgaria. The father and son set off from Portugal and after 105 days at sea, arrived safe and sound in Barbados. A dream that many had considered crazy came true – the two men rowed the Atlantic Ocean on NEVEREST – a boat they built themselves in their garage, while Maxim set a world record becoming the world’s youngest ocean rower to successfully cross an ocean. The story does not end here. The expedition of the two men became hot news in all media, but what is more important is that the awareness about organ donation increased significantly.
